Experience the best night skies in South Africa with magnificent star gazing made able by the pitch black of the Karoo night.

Day 1 : CAPE TOWN to PRINCE ALBERT

• The magnificent Hex River Valley with its spectacular mountain scenery, vineyards and indigenous flora
• Matjiesfontein, a nostalgic Victorian village
• Arrive in Prince Albert

Overnight Options: Guest House or Hotel in Prince Albert

Day 2: PRINCE ALBERT to OUDTSHOORN

• The dramatic and spectacular Swartberg Pass (weather dependent) with its endless curves, steep gradients, and unforgettable rock formations and views
• Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn for a guided tour through the spectacular limestone formations
• Cango Ostrich Ranch for a guided tour to meet the facinating Ostriches with an opportunity to ride on one

Day 3 : OUDTSHOORN to GRAAFF REINET

• Via Uniondale, De Rust and Willowmore, Aberdene
• Arrive in  Graaff Reinet with optional excursions being:
  • The beautiful Dutch reformed Church, one of the best examples of gothic architecture in South Africa
  • Hester Rupert Art Museum
  • Pierneef Museum
  • Stretch’s Court at the Drostdy Hotel
  • Reinet House
  • Walk through the town to see the old homes and buildings – over 220 are National Monuments
• In the late afternoon, we go to a viewpoint that overlooks the “Valley of Desolation” in the Camdeboo National Park

Day 4 : GRAAF REINET to MATJIESFONTEIN

• Drive to Nieu-Bethesda, a quiant little settlement outside of Graaff Reinet
• Leave in the late morning and travel via Anderdeen, Beaufort Wes, Leeugamka, Laingsburg to arrive in Matjiesforntein (Suggest a Picnic Lunch – excluded from price – to save some time)
• Overnight in Matjiesfontein

Day 5 : MATJIESFONTEIN to CAPE TOWN

• Spend the morning in Matjiesfontein exploring
• Via the beautiful Hex River Valley, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
• Through the Breede River Valley with its endless vinyards and fruit orchards
• Over du Toit’s Kloof , one of the most dramatic passes in South Africa with cliffs rising up to 2000 meters
• Arrive back in the Mother City (Cape Town)
